Dear Club Members,
Nick Georgakopoulos is the Head Coach of our Senior Mens Team. Unfortunately just over a year ago, his mother Emmy, lost her battle with ovarian cancer. As ovarian cancer is one of the hardest cancers to detect, she was diagnosed with it when she was already at stage 4 of the illness. Although she did try treatments, it was too late for her by that time.
By attending this event, we can come together as a community to help raise awareness of the disease, and at the same time much needed funds for Ovarian Cancer Australia. They not only support women already fighting the disease, and their families, but promote awareness and develop research programs. The organisation relies heavily on donations and community involvement.
Save the 20th of May in your calanders! There will be facepainting for the kids, a High Tea… BUT most importantly, the ENTIRE Senior Mens team will be wearing Pink Socks in the first game against Altona Magic Soccer Club – it will be a fantastic day of football! Banyule City will be donating all proceeds of Gate Admission to the cause.
Please come along to, and share our event, Bulls in Pink Day, where all the funds raised will go directly to Ovarian Cancer Australia, to help women like Emmy have a fighting chance against one of the deadliest cancers in the world.
You can also donate directly online if you would like at:
